Ezio and Jerry Lucido began their journey in the summer of 1985. The brothers—aged 5 and 12—basked in the idylls of childhood until Jerry’s diagnosis of sudden, early-onset schizophrenia. The Lucido family suffered emotional and financial devastation as results of Jerry’s diagnosis but has ultimately been resilient in adapting to its challenges.

In 1997, Ezio and Jerry decided to be proactive for mental health and created the concept of Re-Mind, beginning with the intention of one day telling Jerry’s life story as a motion picture (currently in development). Jerry has flourished for more than 30 years as an integrated member of his family and community. Ezio is a caregiver, mental health advocate, and filmmaker.
